A Thousand Oaks Treasure with Breathtaking Views

A Thousand Oaks Treasure with Breathtaking Views
Nestled in the heart of Berkeley’s coveted Thousand Oaks neighborhood, this beautiful home is just one home away from the Yosemite Steps, a cherished public right-of-way that offers effortless access to Solano Avenue’s vibrant shops, bakeries & cafés.

Upon entering, you are greeted by a breathtaking panorama of the Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge. The living, dining, and kitchen areas blend harmoniously, offering both comfort and connection. Whether hosting gatherings or enjoying a quiet moment, the stunning views from the decks provide the perfect backdrop for outdoor dining and serene reflection

The main floor is designed for effortless entertaining.  The inviting living room flows through double doors onto two expansive decks, perfect for indoor-outdoor gatherings. A bright and charming kitchen features marble countertops, a farmhouse sink, an iconic O’Keefe & Merritt stove, and generous cabinet storage, blending timeless character with modern convenience. Refinished hardwood floors throughout add warmth and sophistication, and two generous bedrooms and a full bath complete this level.

The primary suite enjoys a private level, creating a true retreat. This serene space boasts a walk-in closet, a spa-like bathroom with a sunken tub and double sinks, and an attached side room with a half bath, ideal for a home office, nursery, or personal sanctuary. The third deck completes this luxurious haven, offering a peaceful escape to soak in the surrounding beauty.

Beyond its idyllic setting, this home has been thoughtfully expanded and improved over the years. Structural upgrades in 2009 included a new foundation retrofit. In 2016, a beautifully integrated one-bedroom, one-bathroom addition with private entry was completed along with an upper deck that seamlessly links the various outdoor spaces, and enhances the home’s indoor-outdoor flow. That same year, additional drainage improvements were made to complement the comprehensive 2009 drainage system. Most recently, a new iron garden fence was installed in 2024 and the home's interior was painted in March of 2025.

A true community gem, this home offers more than just an exceptional place to live—it provides a sense of belonging. Neighbors gather annually for a beloved block party, a tradition that fosters connection and camaraderie. With easy access to the Transbay bus (H or G line) and Downtown Berkeley BART, commuting is effortless, while evenings spent dining al fresco, and soaking in the sweeping views, are simply magical.

This is a rare opportunity to own a piece of Berkeley’s best—where history, thoughtful updates, and an unbeatable location come together in perfect harmony.
